Casita Maria by Chef Ja.Llano blew me away! We followed recommendations and arrived early, snagging a table before the place filled up fast. Their cocktails were incredible, especially the sangria, and the food was even better. From the juicy mussels to the smoky pork chop, every dish was a masterpiece.

#4 Casa Artois
Finally made it to Casa Artois after months of waiting for warmer weather, and WOW! Nestled in the hills with a breathtaking view stretching from Stone Island to the Pacific, it’s the perfect setting for a special occasion. While I missed this season’s menu (apparently the chef changes it six times a year!), the steaks were true stars as promised.
Beyond the incredible food, the curated liquor and wine selection impressed, even if it wasn’t extensive. This hidden gem is definitely worth the trip – the views, the food, and the unique seasonal menus make it a Mazatlan must-try!

Los Arcos my personal #1 for best sea food in Mazatlan. If you prefer a quieter ambiance, consider arriving before 7 pm. Personally, I enjoyed the lively atmosphere and witnessing families having fun. But let’s not forget the star of the show – the sea bass!

Topolo, just off Plaza Machado, is a Mazatlán must-try! This historic hacienda boasts enchanting outdoor dining amidst lush greenery and flickering lanterns. But the magic truly unfolds on your plate. Their tableside salsa ritual kicks off a flavor fiesta, culminating in their legendary chamorro (pork shank) – slow-cooked perfection that deserves its praise.
Now, full disclosure: owner Andy is a client and friend, so I might be a bit biased. But trust me, even the most objective foodie would fall for Topolo’s charm, authentic flavors, and warm service. Don’t miss it, especially if you have a soft spot for incredible chamorro!

#9 Zen by Zasshi
Mazatlán’s sushi scene reaches new heights at Zen by Zasshi! Forget average rolls – here, melt-in-your-mouth Wagyu rolls and perfectly crafted seafood dishes elevate sushi to an art form. Yes, it might cost a bit more, but the flavor explosion is worth every penny. Or if you want traditional seafood – the spicy tuna and the crispy eel were also perfect.
Whether you’re a sushi fanatic or curious newcomer, Zen by Zasshi in the new Tres Islas plaza is my #1 choice for sushi in Mazatlán for an unforgettable culinary experience. Don’t miss it!

Soar into fine-dining heaven at Catalina la Aviadora, Mazatlán’s newest culinary gem. Nestled across from Gran Plaza mall, this haven for carnivores elevates meat to an art form. But forget your average steakhouse fare – here, the signature beef rib barbacoa reigns supreme.
Slow-cooked for 10 heavenly hours, it melts off the bone, delivering an explosion of flavor you won’t find anywhere else in Mazatlán. Beyond this barbacoa masterpiece, the entire menu promises an exquisite journey for meat lovers. An unforgettable dining experience is about to take your taste buds on a thrilling flight!

#11 Presidio
While not quite cracking our top 10, Presidio Cocina remains a Mazatlán must-try for its consistently high-quality food and charming hacienda atmosphere. Don’t let its absence from the top of the list fool you – Presidio delivers a classic experience that won’t disappoint.
We agree, their legendary chamorro (pork shank) is a dish for the ages, slow-cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. While newer contenders might offer a touch more innovation, Presidio Cocina guarantees a reliable and delicious journey through Mazatlán’s culinary soul. So, if you seek a timeless dining experience steeped in tradition, Presidio Cocina awaits with open arms!
Recommended Dish: Chamorro (Pork Shank)
#12 Acaxee Sky Tropic Lounge
Mazatlán’s skyline never looked tastier! Acaxee Sky Tropic Lounge reigns supreme as our top sky bar, offering breathtaking ocean and city views that pair perfectly with its culinary delights. Forget boring bar food – here, torched wagyu nigiri prepared tableside and mouthwatering rib eye carnitas tantalize your taste buds, while cocktails arrive with a flourish of dry ice.
But the real star is the view itself – perched atop Marina Platino Plus, Acaxee offers an unforgettable panorama that lingers long after the last bite. So, for an evening that’s both delicious and visually stunning, look no further than Acaxee Sky Tropic Lounge – you won’t be disappointed!

Mazatlán’s steak scene just got fiercer with the arrival of San Juan Leñero Asador! This newcomer in the marina district aims for the top spot, and let me tell you, it’s a serious contender. Their perfectly seasoned ribeyes and showstopping tomahawks sizzle, while surprisingly delicious ravioli prove their culinary prowess extends beyond grilled delights.

Celebrate in style at Casa Maria, where Mazatlán meets Vegas in an explosion of vibrant decor. Think flamingos, neon signs, palm leaf prints, and vines cascading from the ceiling – Instagram heaven! But the fun doesn’t stop there.
The food joins the party with playful presentations like chicken in a birdcage and tacos hanging on a clothesline. My melt-in-your-mouth rock shrimp rivaled lobster, and the flamingo sparkler shots added a touch of birthday magic. So, if you’re seeking a celebration with wow factor, Casa Maria guarantees you’ll feel like the star of the show!
Recommended Dish: Rock Shrimp
#16 Café Bar 500 Noches Mazatlán
500 Noches, near the marina’s Walmart gas station has quickly become a Mazatlan staple. Open just a few years, this spot tempts with breakfast, lunch, and dinner options, perfect for any craving. Soak up the sunshine on the outdoor patio, or settle indoors for a comfortable meal.
Come nightfall, live bolero music (think soft & romantic!) sets the mood from 7 pm onwards. Prices seem reasonable, but the real test is the taste! They are known for their tapas but have the best picana I have found in Mazatlan.
Recommended Dish: Picana a la Plancha
#17 Sinaloense Olas Altas
Mazatlán cravings met! El Sinaloense delivers the trifecta: fresh – unrivaled seafood, lively banda music, and frosty beers, embodying the true Mazatlán spirit. Yes, the music might be loud for some, but for true seafood lovers and those seeking an authentic Mazatlán experience…. the legendary tuna ceviche (seriously, the best!), and other seafood delights silence any doubts.
While there are several “beer, banda, and marisco” spots around town. El Sinaloense takes the #1 spot… and it’s not even close.
They have 2 restaurants here in Mazatlan but I much prefer heading to the Olas Altas location to watch the sunset paint the sky as you devour your meal. For the best service ask for Lupita and an oceanfront table at the desk – kick back enjoy a cold one… and enjoy the true Pearl of the Pacific experience!

#19 Hector’s Bistro
Mazatlán’s culinary scene wouldn’t be complete without Hector’s Bistro, a Centro Historico gem with a loyal following. While the ambiance might not shout trendy, the food speaks volumes. My personal favorites, the melt-in-your-mouth seabass and smoky, delicious pork chop, are testaments to their culinary prowess. Even the shredded duck pasta is a winner.
Don’t forget to save room for their legendary sticky toffee pudding – it’s an experience in itself! So, for an evening focused on pure flavor, Hector’s Bistro is a must-try, proving sometimes the classics get it right.
Recommended Dish: Smoked Pork Chop
#20 Casa Mayora
Casa Mayora in Mazatlan’s Centro Historico delighted us with an exceptional experience! The attentive service set the stage for a culinary adventure. We delved into unique and flavorful dishes, starting with the intriguing bone marrow and corn.
The star of the show was the pork shank, boasting fall-off-the-bone tenderness and a molé-like depth of flavor without the heavy sauce. We hear their breakfasts are equally impressive, so we’ll definitely be back to explore more!
Recommended Dish: Braised Pork Shank (Chamorro)
#21 Fisherman’s Mazatlan
Craving epic ocean views and the best aguachile in Mazatlán? Look no further than Fisherman’s! This malecon gem reigns supreme as our choice for #1 beachside dining and aguachile in mazatlan, offering a tri-color aguachile masterpiece that tantalizes taste buds.
But the deliciousness doesn’t stop there – coconut shrimp, squid ink pasta, even their burger are all guaranteed to please. Just a heads up, while everything is reasonably priced, cooked shrimp might set you back a bit more compared to other spots in the city…. Still, for an unforgettable beachfront experience and aguachile that sings, Fisherman’s is a must-visit!
Recommended Dish: Aguachile Tri-Color
#22 Agatha’s Kitchen Bar
Agatha Kitchen Bar in Zona Dorada tantalizes with top-notch cuisine, like their melt-in-your-mouth braised short ribs and decadent bone marrow. While not the priciest in the area, the spacious, modern ambiance might not suit an intimate date night. Craving a delicious Zona Dorada meal with a lively atmosphere? Agatha delivers, but for a more intimate setting, consider cozier options.
However, if you’re seeking a vibrant gathering with friends or a night out with a focus on exceptional food, Agatha’s open space and stylish décor become assets. The attentive service and diverse menu, featuring fresh seafood options and delicious pastas alongside their signature dishes, cater to various palates. So, while Agatha might not be your go-to for a candlelit dinner, it shines for those seeking a taste of culinary excellence in a lively Zona Dorada setting.

#23 Marde Fundo (Centro)
Mazatlán’s culinary scene boasts hidden gems like Mar de Fondo, and I’ve been lucky enough to experience its magic twice. Nestled in a tranquil courtyard, the friendly and attentive staff sets the stage for a delightful meal.
Their focus is chilled seafood with a creative twist, and everything hits the mark. The shrimp zarandeado is a crowd-pleasing appetizer, while my personal favorite is the decadent tuna tostada adorned with gold flakes.
But the true heart of Mar de Fondo lies in Lu, the owner, whose passion shines through in every dish. If you seek a peaceful escape with exceptional seafood prepared with love, this hidden gem awaits!
Recommended Dish: Shrimp Zarandeado
#24 Vista de Palma
Mazatlán’s sunset scene got a big upgrade with Vista de Palma, Olas Altas’ skybar gem. While Acaxee might hold the top spot, Vista de Palma remains a sunset-viewing champion and still one of my favorite bars to hang out, have a drink and some good conversation.
While the menu is more limited, it shines with delicious sliders (some of the best burgers in town!) and cold brews from Tres Islas.
After 10 pm, the vibe shifts to nightclub mode, making it a versatile option for an afternoon chill session or a vibrant night out. Just skip the pizza and focus on the sunset, sliders, and brews for an unforgettable Mazatlán experience.
Recommended Dish: Sliders!
#25 Shangri-La Restaurant Bistro
Shangri La delivered to Mazatlan what we have been craving…. delicious authentic Chinese. Located in Tres Islas Shopping Plaza! This gem delivers dishes that satisfy even the most discerning palate.
While their char siu is a standout, the entire menu promises a flavorful journey through Chinese culinary traditions. So, skip the generic stir-fries and step into Shangri-La for an authentic taste of the Orient right in the heart of Zona Dorada.

Mazatlán’s malecon isn’t just about stunning sunsets – it’s about vibrant experiences like Pata Salada! Named after the Mazatlan nickname… This beachfront hotspot reigns supreme as our #2 pick for “beer, banda, and mariscos”.
Crank up the volume on lively banda and dig into mouthwatering seafood, with their signature camarones a las brasas stealing the show. These grilled shrimp boast a unique salsa you won’t find anywhere else. So, grab a cold cerveza, soak up the beach vibes, and let the party atmosphere of Pata Salada waste away your afternoon.

#34 Puerto Azul
Puerto Azul located palapa row on the malecon is another one of our beachfront favorites. It’s pretty simple…. Ask anyone from town where the best pescado zarandeado is and you won’t get one answer that isn’t Puerto Azul.
This is the spot we always bring out of town guests for a true beachfront experience. They start by bringing out 3 red snapper on a tray. You pick the size. They grill it with whatever special marinade they use and walah – lunch on the beach for 4. Go here hungry but expect a wait. Usually it takes about 45 minutes to hit your table.

But don’t be fooled by their size, these capeados are flavor champions.
They’re not just tacos, they’re statements. If you’re looking for a breakfast that’s as big and bold as Mazatlán’s spirit, look no further than El Gordo. Just be prepared to bring your appetite – and maybe a friend to share with, because these legendary capeados are enough to satisfy two!

Forget the ubiquitous brick-oven thin crust – Brother’s is all about that hearty, delicious Midwest-style goodness.
Brother’s is our choice for best pizza in Mazatlan. If I can avoid it I do not order from anywhere else. Unfortunately they don’t deliver to centro 🙁 Being from the midwest I have been crazy something other than brick oven thin crust and Brother’s finally cured my itch.

Tucked away in central Mazatlan, La Molcajeteria is a vintage-chic restaurant serving up delectable Mexican cuisine and ice-cold craft beers that beckon your return with each visit. With an eclectic decor featuring vinyl records, the charming atmosphere is matched by dishes like delicious molcajetes – a traditional lava stone mortar filled with meat, cheese, and salsa.

Recommended Dish: Beef, Chicken, Shrimp Combo
#41 Seoullo Korean BBQ
Seoullo Korean BBQ is a delightful addition to Mazatlán’s culinary scene, bringing authentic Korean barbecue to our coastal city. Located on the 2nd floor of the Camino al Mar shopping plaza, this restaurant offers two enticing options: $250 pesos for adults or an additional $50 pesos for the “premium” buffet, which nearly doubles the offerings.
Our experience was exceptional—the flavors, the grill, and the ambiance all left a lasting impression. A pro tip: Arrive early to savor every moment, as they close at 9 PM and turn off the grills by 8:30 (even if you still have a full meal cooking!)
For a taste of Korea in Mazatlán, Seoullo is a must-visit!

Sunrise in Mazatlán calls for one thing: Looney Bean Olas Altas! Our choice for best breakfast in Mazatlan cures hunger (or hangovers) with generous platters, burritos, and sandwiches, all while offering an unbeatable oceanfront setting.
Grab their legendary “Combo Looney”: a symphony of machaca, chilaquiles, eggs, and refried beans on one delicious plate. But the magic doesn’t stop there. Wide menu including anything from fluffy omelets to flavorful breakfast burritos, they have something for every craving.

Don’t miss their perfect arrachetta—it’s a taste of Mazatlán’s heart and soul.
Recommended Dish: Arrachetta
#45 Cerritos Gastrobar
Our only complaint about Cerritos Gastrobar is the location. Personally I believe if this place was located in Centro or even Zona Dorada it would be on every top 10 list. It gets some buzz so when they did a collaboration with La Hamburgeria for a burger of the month – I had to try it…. and it was so good we had to take the trip up to Cerritos to vist their actual location.
Everything on the menu was on point and I tried the Cerritos ceviche, roast beef sandwich… Also would recommend the “Burger Cerritos” or any burger here. Our choice for best burger in Mazatlan.
- Best Burger in Mazatlan
Recommended Dish: Burgers!
#46 Mariscos El Torito
Mariscos El Torito holds a special place in Mazatlán’s culinary landscape. With both the original location off Avenida Rotarismo and the newer spot in Marina, it consistently garners rave reviews. What sets El Torito apart is its unwavering reliability—the kind of place where you know you’ll enjoy a satisfying meal.
Now, let’s talk about that elusive dish—the pescado fillet with poblano sauce. It’s like chasing a flavorful mirage through the streets of Mazatlán. The tantalizing blend of tender fish and rich poblano goodness keeps me coming back. If you find the secret, do share—it’s a quest worth pursuing!
Recommended Dish: Fillet with Poblano Salsa
#47 Taqueria El Milagro
We had been going across the street to Luis del Verde for years and had never wanted to “cheat” on them by visiting any of the other tacaquerias close by…. until one day Luis del Verde was closed and we ended up at Milagro. WOW – I have never found a papa loca I didn’t like – but theirs is “the one”!
Add in some of the best carne asada tacos in town and this is a place you must try if you’re in the mood for street food!
- Best Papa Loca in Mazatlan
Recommended Dish: Papa Loca
#48 Tacos Luis Del Verde
Across the street from the previous mentioned Taqueria Milargo – this is another of my favorite local street food taquerias. Having lived up the street at Torre eMe for almost a year we had driven by here many of a Friday night and being always full – it was always talked about getting there… but it wasn’t until a local YouTuber reviewed it that we made a point to get over there.
The result: The best chorreada in Mazatlan! Add in the rest of the staples (quesadillas, tacos and tortas) – Luis del Verde is always in our taco rotation.

#49 Tacos Raymundo
If you are hungry and have not had the quesadilla criminal from Tacos Raymundo – get there. NOW! Located in centro just up the street from Paraque Ciudades Hermanas, Tacos Raymundo has been around for awhile and is another local favorite. You will probably need to wait a bit for a table but don’t let that discourage you from making a visit.
This is a place you want to grab a table at over choosing delivery. At the store they give you some delicious complimentary bean tacos to get you started.
Then comes the quesadilla of all quesadillas or any of the other traditional carne asada options you choose from. Head here hungry after spending the day at the beach!

#50 Birrieria Valencia
Want some birria on a weekday and Osuna isn’t open? Valencia will definitely hit the spot. Another one of our favorite spots in town and my personal 2nd favorite birria joint… Valencia is known for oversized portions and perfectly seasoned beef birria.
Grab a few quesabirrias or a quesadilla for an early morning full stomach.
