Nestled on the Sabalo Country beachfront, Loco Locos isn’t just a restaurant, it’s an experience. A local favorite among long-time expats, it’s run by Javier and Jaime, who pour their hearts into creating a homey atmosphere with an unbeatable ocean view.
The best pescado frito in town tastes even better when you’re on the beach.

#3 Puerto Azul
Puerto Azul located in palapa row on the malecon is another one of our beachfront favorites. It’s pretty simple…. Ask anyone from town where the best pescado zarandeado is and you won’t get one answer that isn’t Puerto Azul.
This is the spot we always bring out of town guests for a true beachfront experience.
They start by bringing out 3 red snapper on a tray. You pick the size. They grill it with whatever special marinade they use and walah – lunch on the beach for 4.
Go here hungry but expect a wait. Usually it takes about 45 minutes to hit your table.
Recommended Dish: Pescado Zarandeado
#4 Lety’s (Stone Island)
While not in Mazatlan centro – it would be a tragedy to not mention Lety’s in our list of best seafood or beachfront restaurants in Mazatlan! Located just a 5 minute boat ride from Playa Sur – Stone Island is home to Restaurante Lety’s where you can find dining on the beach at it’s finest.
If anyone else tells you to go somewhere else on Stone Island… tell them they are crazy! While I love to try new places to dine… In my 4+ years living in Mazatlan – I have never gone elsewhere when visiting Stone Island (and that is 2-3 times a month). There is just no reason.
Lety’s is home to the best coconut shrimp in Mazatlan. Try them once and it’s impossible to eat anywhere else.
And I am still waiting to find better lobster. If you love garlic and butter on your shellfish – this is your place. It’s not on the menu – but shoot Felipe (the owner) a message through their Facebook page and he’ll have it ready for you!
Recommended Dish: Coconut Shrimp or Lobster
#5 La Jaiba Pata Salada
Mazatlán’s malecon isn’t just about stunning sunsets – it’s about vibrant experiences like Pata Salada! Named after the Mazatlan nickname… This beachfront hotspot reigns supreme as our #2 pick for “beer, banda, and mariscos”.
Crank up the volume on lively banda and dig into mouthwatering seafood, with their signature camarones a las brasas stealing the show. El Sinaloense is part of the big 3 for beer, banda, seafood. The music might be loud for some, but for true seafood lovers and those seeking an authentic Mazatlán experience…. the legendary tuna ceviche (seriously, the best!), and other seafood delights silence any doubts.
Those of you who have read my other Mazatlan Food blogs know how much I love Sinaloense… and while not located directly on the beach (it is across the street) – sitting at one of the oceanfront tables in Olas Altas will make you think you are. The sunsets are just as stunning!
For the best service ask for Lupita and an oceanfront table at the desk – kick back enjoy a cold one… and enjoy the true Pearl of the Pacific experience!

Located on the malecon just south of Valentino’s and the Mazatlan Letters it’s easy to do a boardwalk cruise-by, DON’T!
Los Lujos del Muchacho isn’t just another beachfront joint; it’s one of those places that will have you coming back. Attentive staff who treat you like familia, prices that won’t sink your budget, and food so good it’ll make you sing along to the band.
DO order cheese shrimp tacos. And the shrimp ceviche? Forget the typical, this one’s a fiesta in a bowl, bursting with fresh seafood, zesty citrus, and just the right amount of kick. It’s like a tropical vacation for your taste buds.
