Unlike old school traditional brokerages, where commissions vary depending on an agent’s negotiation skills, production, or relationships – all eXp agents receive the same commission structure: 80/20 with a $16,000 cap. Based on team performance, team members are eligible for a half to a quarter cap.
That means every eXp agent keeps 80% of the commission they earn until they pay a total of $16,000. For the rest of their anniversary year, the agent keeps their entire commission (100%). At eXp Realty, there are NO desk, franchise or royalty fees.
Across North America we have talked to agents taking home as little as 50% of their commission – uncapped. Enough already! With eXp Realty you’ll be taking home 80% – 100%!

eXp rewards its top agents with the Icon Agent Award. ICON status is given to eXp Realty agents that hit their $16,000 CAP, execute a minimum number of transaction over the year with a GCI of, meet the cultural satisfaction requirements, and follow a few other restrictions.
Yep, that’s your entire $16,000 CAP back to you — that is just amazing! Through the program, you can effectively earn your entire cap amount back in the form of public company stock … every single year.
eXp has done it yet again! They turned a profit-sharing structure that many brokerages offered and turned it upside down into revenue-sharing. As a result, rev share is one of eXp’s most interesting yet misunderstood features. Any agent that joins eXp and designate an active eXp agent as their “sponsor” are eligible for revenue sharing. The sponsor is the eXp agent who had the greatest impact on the new agent’s decision to join eXp.
The sponsor obtains a percentage of the company dollar (revenue) from the sales activity of their sponsored agent after the new agent begins closing deals. It is calculated dynamically and paid monthly based on gross commission income (GCI). This is paid per deal the agent closes regardless of if the agent does 1 deal a year or is a capping agent.
Profit-sharing, in which certain brokerages share earnings with agents after all office expenses have been deducted from income, is a different ball game completely. This includes rent, insurance, utilities, employee wages, and other high-cost overhead expenses. In a profit-share model, it is common for a sponsored agent to be productive while the office or franchise is not profitable, resulting in a profit-share of little or nothing in additional income for the agent.
eXp’s revenue sharing program tracks and pays on transactions up to seven levels, allowing agents to share in the revenue generated from transactions completed by agents they directly sponsor, as well as agents sponsored by those agents, and so on. Our agents are the driving force behind the brokerage’s success, and they share in the profits earned by their efforts and influence.
Revenue share or “Rev Share” can be earned from agents all across the US, Canada and anywhere else eXp operates regardless if the agent they attract to the company is in the same country.
The fourth unique income stream you have an opportunity to earn on is to have ownership in the company. This is the driving force behind why our leads are collaborative instead of competitive! The better the company as a whole performs the better our shareholders bank accounts look.

If you are new to real estate or have been inactive for awhile we have a mentor program to help put you on the path to success and fine tune your skills.
Here’s how it works… Any agent joining eXp that hasn’t had at least three transactions in the previous 12 months will be enrolled into the mentorship program. You’ll be partnered with a local mentor who will help guide you through the first few months in the business. Just like on “regular” Facebook you can join groups and post specific questions or find information organized in an easy to use and easy to navigate platform. Instead of a news feed filled with politics, cat videos, and memes – inside of workplace you’ll get announcements, training and posts by leaders.
For eXp agents this is huge as workplace provides an area for collaboration with agents from the US that have clients looking to buy property in across the globe but don’t have a trustworthy agent to refer them too.
