Tips for finding the PERFECT RENTAL

Renting an apartment or condo in Merida  (or Mexico in general) can be tricky.

There is no standard MLS so searching for condo rentals locally you are left with only 2 options:

1) Hire a trusted realtor to search for you or

2) Search using one of the “round up sites” such as Vivanucios.

The problem with using a round up site is that about 80% of their listings are out of date so you end up inquiring on a large amount of properties that are already rented out…. a waste of time and extremely frustrating!

Luckily for you the renter, trying to find a apartment or house to rent – you don’t pay anything if you decide to hire us to do your search for you!

Simply send us a note and we’ll discuss what you are looking for and give you the best options we can find. Put us to work for you! Send us a message and let us do the heavy lifting.

A Guide & FAQ to Rentals in Merida

The average rent in Merida, Mexico really just depends on how you want to live and will affect ! We have high end houses that average of $30,000/mo but we can find a studio in centro historico for $10,000mxn or so. You can view our updated rental listings or visit our Guide to Renting in Merida or check out the most recent market report which breaks down average rental prices by neighborhood.

Because we have many people coming down from the US and Canada to avoid the snow during the winter months a long term condo rental in Merida does not have to be a year. Generally anything over a month or two is considered a long term rental in Mazatlán and we can find a great deal on an apt.

In general, no… you can bring fido along with you! Most owners in the area will accept a single dog or cat but if it is larger (50lbs+) they may (and probably will) ask for an additional deposit.

Absolutely! Because there is no standard MLS listing  site here like in the US or Canada – other brokerages are not required to share their information with the public. When you contact us we can discuss your budget and find you something suitable for your price range.

While we specialize in higher -end properties here in Merida – We have access to rentals in other areas starting as little as $5000mxp/mo (about $250usd) and can help find whatever type of floor plan you are looking for!

NO! We do not recommend you do any real estate transaction through Facebook Marketplace. While there are certainly legitimate and honest agents marketing there – just like the US and Canada there are also quite a few properties that don’t exist and you will lose your money. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is.

As a renter – you do not pay anything to use a real estate agent. If you find a place you like on Facebook – call us, we are happy to vet it for you, visit the property to give you a virtual walk through, and guarantee your transaction + piece of mind!

YES! You would actually be hard pressed to find an apartment for rent here that is not fully furnished. Because most of our visitors are here for only a few months of the year, almost all houses for rent in Merida will be 100% furnished with everything you need to enjoy your stay.

Well, since you’re here we’d have to give ourselves a vote 🙂 I think our marketing team does a great job keeping listings current, where other sites you may end up inquiring on 10-20 places that are all rented.
